BOYLAND deals with identity blending, using movement as well as various physical and emotional states. The aim is to explore the concepts of gender and categorization, such as identity, sexuality or performance categorization. Grotesque, satirical, expressionist or burlesque forms are summoned in order to study these concepts.
The choreography mixes movement, sound, language, dance and actions in equal measure.
By means of caricature and exaggeration, a new form appears; oscillating between narrative fragments, and figurative and abstract images. The bodies of the performers act as a surface for the projection of our thoughts, dreams, debates and opinions.
